DAY 01 / THURSDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2020
1ST OF 8 NIGHTS AT W HOTEL BRISBANE
Bravura ‘Welcome’ Drinks in the rooftop bar
Opera: Das Rheingold - 7pm (2.5 hrs duration)
Our Brisbane journey begins as we arrive and check in to our contemporary 5 star hotel, the W Brisbane. Located in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, on the banks of the iconic Brisbane River and within minutes of the famed arts precinct, the W is one of Brisbane’s newest hotels. It boasts exceptional design and contemporary luxury with spacious guestrooms featuring supreme river views through oversized windows. With a day spa, gym, pool, several chic bars and a signature gourmet dining venue onsite, all our needs are covered.
In the early evening the group will meet each other for a ‘welcome’ drink at the chic rooftop bar of our hotel. Over a drink, a few share plates and some photo worthy vistas over Southbank and Mount Coot-tha, we enjoy a short retelling of the story and music of Das Rheingold by Annie Whealy. We then travel together to the nearby QPAC where our 2020 Ring Cycle journey begins with a 7pm performance of the opera. Post concert, we travel back to our hotel where drinks and nibbles await the Bravura group in the Loung Bar!
DAY 2 / FRIDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2020
2ND OF 8 NIGHTS AT W HOTEL BRISBANE
Brisbane River Cruise - Morning
Fine Dining at Stokehouse Q - Evening
We start the day with a relaxing cruise along the Brisbane River. We learn about the history of the city and its legends while taking in landmark sights such as Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Brisbane City Center, and the iconic Story Bridge. The afternoon is free to explore Brisbane at your leisure. In the evening, we come together to enjoy a fine dining experience at Stokehouse Q. Seated one step from the water with stunning city views, impeccable service, award-winning wine and a beautifully crafted menu, Stokehouse makes for a memorable dining experience. Referred to as Brisbane’s most photogenic venue, the menu is inspired by flavours from the Mediterranean and greater Europe, cued by the freshest local produce, and curated by some of Australia’s most talented young chefs. The atmosphere is one of casual elegance and relaxed sophistication. The Bravura Group will have 3 side by side tables of 6-10 people on each. NB The bill for food and wine will be settled by each table on the night.
DAY 3 / SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER 2020
3RD OF 8 NIGHTS AT W HOTEL BRISBANE
Opera : Die Walküre - 1pm (5:45 hrs duration)
We meet in the late morning in our hotel lounge bar for an informative talk by Annie Whealy on the 2nd opera in our cycle Die Walküre. At 12:15, we travel together to QPAC where there will be time to enjoy a light bar snack before the commencement of our opera at 1pm.
In the evening we have a post-opera dinner at the famed Pony Lounge and Dining. Ranked as one of the city’s best restaurants and boasting one of the best spots along the Brisbane River, at Eagle Street Pier, Pony serves up impressive Australian seasonal produce in a elegant setting. At the heart of Pony’s menu are the finest cuts of meat, freshest seafood and an array of shared and larger plates. It's a cracker spot for a big dinner with friends, but also holds a romantic quality that’s hard to beat.

Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre - Morning
Tweed River Cruise - Afternoon
This morning we meet in our hotel foyer for a day trip to the Tweed. We travel by comfortable coach to meet our private tour guide at the Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre. One of the most beautiful spots on the Tweed, the gallery is surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns offering panoramic views of the Tweed River. The Gallery’s collection includes a world class collection of portraits representing Australians from all walks of life. At the Art Centre, we learn about the fascinating career and life of Margaret Olley – Australia’s most celebrated painter of still life and interiors. She drew inspiration from her home and studio and the beauty of the everyday objects she gathered around her. Many of her paintings feature arrangements of fruits and flowers, set amid the pottery, art and exotica of her travels. We then enjoy a relaxing light lunch in the peaceful surrounds of the outdoor Gallery cafe with it’s enchanting views over the river.
In the afternoon we experience the Gold Coast’s Tweed Valley on a beautiful river cruise. Marvel at the valley’s natural beauty and lush scenery while sipping local wines as we learn about the fascinating history and significance of this mighty river. We travel to back to our hotel via our private coach where all are free to do as they please with the evening.
DAY 5 / MONDAY 23 November 2020
5th OF 8 NIGHTS at W Hotel Brisbane
QAGOMA (Queensland Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art) - Private Guided Tour and lunch
This morning we travel together to Queensland's premier visual arts institution, the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). Enriching the cultural life of Brisbane, these two vibrant and accessible galleries offer distinct, yet complementary experiences. Our private tour guide will lead us on an inspirational journey through the galleries which connect people and art through a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions that showcase works from a diverse range of historical and contemporary artists.
After our tour we head to the elegant and award winning GOMA Restaurant for lunch. The restaurant is making serious waves with a dining experience as fresh and forward-thinking as the artwork that surrounds it. The menu menu created by Executive chef Doug Innes-Will showcases the best Queensland produce, using sustainable and organic ingredients wherever possible. Wines are carefully selected to enhance the dining experience perfectly.
This afternoon and evening are free for you to enjoy Brisbane at your leisure.
DAY 6 / TUESDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2020
6th OF 8 NIGHTS AT W HOTEL BRISBANE
Opera: Siegfried - 5pm (6 hrs duration)
We meet in the morning at our chic hotel lounge bar for an informative talk by Annie Whealy on the 3rd opera in our cycle, Siegfried. The day is free to relax in preparation for an epic evening of opera. At 4pm, we meet in our hotel foyer to travel together to QPAC where we will enjoy a 5pm performance of Siegried which will run for approximately 6 hrs with 2 intervals. Interval drinks and a light meal will be pre-arranged for the Bravura group.
DAY 7 / WEDNESDAY 25 NOVEMBER 2020
7th OF 8 NIGHTS AT W HOTEL BRISBANE
Deluxe Food & Wine Tour of Mount Tamborine
Today we escape the city and absorb the spectacular scenery of the breathtaking hinterlands whilst making our way through Tamborine Mountain's unique food and wine trail - home to some of Queensland's best boutique wineries, distilleries, and a cheese factory. Relax and sit back in our air conditioned mini-bus as our local food and wine expert guides us through Tamborine Mountain's delicious wine trail, discovering a variety of award winning wine & liqueur from boutique venues. Our deluxe wine tour will include a generous tasting of quality wine from two 5 star wineries, a liqueur / spirit tasting at our quirky world renown distillery, a delicious gourmet two course lunch with panoramic views, and an artisan cheese tasting (plus cheese platter) at the cheese factory. Opera: Götterdämmerung - 4pm (Duration 6:40 hrs)
After breakfast, we gather in our hotel lounge bar where we enjoy an informative talk by Annie Whealy on the final opera in our cycle, Götterdämmerung. The day is free to relax and and prepare ourselves for yet another epic evening. At 3pm, we meet in our hotel foyer and travel together to QPAC for a 4pm performance where we witness the The Ring Cycle reach its devastating finale in Götterdämmerung’s tale of treachery and destruction. There will be 2 intervals during the finale, and the Bravura group will enjoy a sit down dinner at Lyre Bird Restaurant, QPAC during the longer one.

Our tour concludes and all depart under own steam.
